Schroeder edges out net par at -0.9 and wins $4195 at Diamondback GC

Brandon Schroeder first played the FairWay Tour October 10, 2002 and has recorded 25 tournament scores in 2011 but never before had won a major...Last week at Boiling Springs, he passed three players in the Red River Cup points race by participating in the event and moved into third place, which will pay roughly $10,000 in bonus cash to the top ten points winners. And this week he hit the jackpot by winning nearly $5000 and his first major. Like most of us, Brandon has struggled with his game for much of the season and was contemplating stashing his clubs for the year before deciding to play last week. I guess you could say that decision paid off as he finally cashed the big check. Congratulations, Brandon, for believing in your game and knowing eventually your time would come. Please note that if Brandon had chosen not to play in those events, he would have also slipped to at best 8th in the points race and in line for a $500 bonus check...Instead, he has moved past Paul Aycock all the way to 2nd place and if he can hold that position will receive a $2000 bonus check! In short, the first 22 rounds of golf this year on the tour did not turn out the very best for Brandon but the last two weekends not only built his confidence, it also replenished his golf account. Brandon's handicap has also dipped from the mid 5's to the mid 3's, which is part of the tour's mission statement..."to improve one's game thru competition". We hope you can make it this Saturday for our last 1-Day event of the season at the newly renovated Bridlewood GC in Flower Mound, TX because I am certain Brandon Schroeder will tell you ..."IF YOU DON'T TEE IT UP YOU CAN'T WIN"!
