Calhoun gets first win and $1750 at Bridlewood; Policy regarding BAD MONEY

Aaron Calhoun of Lawton, OK, wins the event at Bridlewood GC in Flower Mound, TX last Sunday. This was Calhoun's first victory as he took home a nice check for $1750. Congratulations Aaron! Since the FairWay Tour started late in the year 2000, it has always been our policy to PAY at the end of the DAY! As a tournament golfer myself, I believe this is in the best interest of the players...especially with some mini tours not paying the players at all! We have also made it a priority to have the most generous pay matrix possible and now have the Red River Cup Bonus Cash to reward our most loyal members. This policy will not change...however, the tour currently stands at $8025 in unpaid or BAD FUNDS submitted in 2012. Beginning September 1st, if payment arrangements have not been honored, the tour may publish in its newsletters and at the course registration table the names of all players who have an outstanding balance with the tour and the amount they owe. At the conclusion of the Tour Championship, all players still on the list will be permanently banned from participating in future FairWay Tour events. The goal of the Red River Cup in 2012 was $25,000...IF this number is exceeded and there is still an outstanding balance due the tour by its players, the amount above and beyond $25,000 in the Red River Cup will be used to soften the blow caused by these bad funds. Since we pay the most possible to the winners immediately following the event, the Tour Director eats whatever money is not "GOOD" and we do not allow for that in our PAY MATRIX!!! Just a reminder... it is a criminal offense to write a bad check and those checks will be turned over to the district attorney at the end of the season. OK GLAD THAT IS on a more positive note...our next event will be held at Fairfax GC in Edmond, OK this Sunday at 10AM. We encourage you to participate in this event as the greens are the best they have been at this course...We hope to see you there because "IF YOU DON'T TEE IT UP YOU CAN'T WIN!"
