Stonebridge Dye Thursday as Aycock posts career round at Buffalo Creek and Westphalen gets first win and $2572 at Oak Tree

Congratulations to Paul Aycock and Jeff Westphalen, winners of last week's FairWay Tour events! Paul Aycock, a FairWay Tour member since 2009, fired a career low gross score of 67, his best in 90+ rounds on the tour! Aycock, who entered his late 50's with open heart surgery in November 2012, played one of his first rounds after recovery last January at Buffalo Creek and shot 86. I think it's safe to say Paul is now fully healthy!! On Sunday at Oak Tree CC, Jeff Westphalen got his first win in 3 years of playing the tour by putting like a wizard during a cold gale on his home course. The 25 yr old used 9 putts over an 8 hole stretch that included three par skins at the Pete Dye layout, where nobody was able to break par with the temperature at 45 degrees and wind at 35mph from the north. Another interesting note is the winner of the first $250 Golf Galaxy Cash Drawing (for players who did not cash a check and are still present at conclusion of event) was Derek Dodd, who DQ'd himself for picking up his provisional and playing original ball that was later deemed to be out of bounds. Not sure a DQ'd player has ever cashed a check on a golf tour!! We are ready for Spring and Summer with unrivaled quality when it comes to golf courses on the schedule...and it all starts on Thursday with an event at another Pete Dye gem, Stonebridge CC...we hope to see you there because "If you don't tee it up you can't win!"
